When the idea of TheFlowbee came to mind, I was a carpenter in San Diego, looking for a way to create a simple and clean haircut without it being a chore. What started as the “Vacuut” took me nearly seven years of trial and error, along with a few brave test subjects (my family), before I got it right. Using the suction of a vacuum and a small set of clippers, I discovered a way to pull hair straight while trimming it evenly with no mess and no skill required. Because of the buzzing sound it created, which reminded me of a bee, The Flowbee was born.

I spent years perfecting and promoting it at garage sales, county fairs, and even landing my first infomercial in 1988. Before I knew it, millions of people were using The Flowbee, not just everyday families, but astronauts too! I never imagined something I invented would become a household name, or that people like George Clooney would still be using it decades later. The Flowbee has always been about one simple idea for me: making life a little easier, one haircut at a time.
